Frozen ii trailer. This was a delight to watch, there's many breathtaking, beautiful, heartfelt and funny moments in this movie. The songs are amazing - the animated performance of 'Into the Unknown' is worth the watch on its own. Idina Menzel's voice is so soulful and enchanting. Another highlight was the new character Lieutenant Mattias.

The new songs are good, and Olaf is one of the best characters in the movie, but the overly "magical" plot which haphazardly explains the source of Elsa's powers lacks the whimsy of solid classics such as Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, or Snow White. The idea of utterly dishonest parents who abandoned their children for what was to be an overtly deadly journey in order to "help" their children lacked any sense of credibility. Some mysteries are better left unexplained, which protects the wonder of the unexplainable. We left the theater somewhat disappointed and certainly confused about the take-aways.

It was always going to be difficult for Disney to create a sequel to such a wildly popular and beloved film like Frozen, but they've done a good job with Frozen II. The characters and storyline continue and develop the themes of the first film, but do draw more heavily on the Nordic aspect of the setting. It definitely felt more like folklore than the first, and because we'd already had the main character developments in the first film, had a more in depth plot. I found the film had a good balance between serious storytelling, action and humour. I found the new songs to be enjoyable, perhaps not as memorable as those from the first film, but only time will tell if that's the case. Overall a job well done and I can definitely see Frozen II will become a Disney classic to be enjoyed over and over again.

There are a lot of moments in this film that kids will enjoy. The songs are catchier, meaning that they can sing and dance to their heart's content. There are emotional scenes which might be a little upsetting, but apart from all that, at the end of the day, it's a ruddy good 1¾ hours of magical entertainment.
